The hype is real and records will be broken with Triton Poker announcing the biggest buy-in tournament in poker history.
- The Triton Super High Roller Series will go higher than anyone has gone before this August, as they've announced they plan to break the record for the highest buy-in poker tournament ever held.
- When Triton’s co-founders, Paul Phua and Richard Yong, considered hosting a £1m buy-in event, “CHARITY” was the first sticky note to land on the brainstorming whiteboard.
With 54 registered players, the Triton Poker Million is the biggest of all one million buy-in poker tournaments. The Big One for One Drop in 2012 attracted a field of 48, the 2014 edition saw 42. Stakes: 3,000/6,000. Location:: Landing Casino - Jeju, South Korea. Date: September 9th, 2018. A Billion Views, THE one stop channel for the best content onl.
The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series is heading to London for the first time on July 31 to Aug. 7 at the Grand Ballroom of London's Park Lane Hilton. As one would expect from Triton Poker, the scheduled is littered with nosebleed buy-in tournaments starting at £25,000.
Besides the fact that it's the first time the illustrious tour sets foot in the British capital, what makes this stop unique is the buy-in of its premier event. The Triton Million - A Helping Hand for Charity Event has a record-breaking £1,050,000 buy-in ($1,325,351/€1,178,798), and runs Aug. 1-3. This smashes the previous record of €1,000,000 for The Big One For One Drop held in Monte Carlo in October 2016.
The event is an invite-only affair to well-known and successful businessmen and women around the world that share a passion for poker. Each recipient of an invitation can also register a guest into the event, which is likely to also include some of the best poker pros.
A total of £1,000,000 of each entry will go towards the prize pool with the remaining £50,000 entry fee going towards charitable causes. Triton Poker predicts that the winner of this event will earn more than any other player in a single tournament event in history.
Currently, Antonio Esfandiari holds the record for the single biggest win after he outlasted a field of 48 entrants in The Big One for One Drop in 2012 to claim the $18,346,673 top prize.
Some Unique Twists
the field will be split between poker professionals and recreational players. For the first part of the first day, the two groups will not battle each other
For the first time in poker tournament's existence, the field will be split between poker professionals and recreational players. For the first part of the first day of three days (up until the dinner break,) the two groups will not battle each other. Only after Level 6 will the two groups merge with the fields combining to play the rest of the tournament out as a traditional freeze-out poker tournament.
To add to the prestige of this big event, players will not be allowed to wear sunglasses, hats, or hoodies, nor will they be able to cover any part of their body from the neck up. In addition, the final table of nine players will be required to be attired in a formal suit, like at the Big One for One Drop in Monte Carlo three years ago.
Players start out with 1,000,000 in chips, the tournament will have one-hour levels throughout, it will operate a big blind ante and 20-second pre-flop, 25-second flop, and 30-second turn and river shot clock.
